Position Overview

Archetype Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) is seeking experienced Security Technicians to support large-scale data center construction projects. Technicians will primarily perform access control and security system installation, with a strong focus on structured cabling for security cameras, access control devices, and other low-voltage security infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience installing low-voltage security systems in commercial, industrial, or data center environments and is comfortable working with cable tray, ladder rack, J-hooks, conduit, and other structured cabling pathways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install structured cabling for access control systems, security cameras, and other Division 28 systems.
  • Pull, route, dress, secure, and label low-voltage cabling throughout large-scale data center environments.
  • Install cabling for access control devices including card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, and other security equipment.
  • Install and route cabling for CCTV/IP security camera systems.
  • Terminate and test copper/low-voltage cabling.
  • Maintain clean and organized cable installations while following proper bend radius, support, separation, and cable-management requirements.
  • Work with cable tray, ladder rack, J-hooks, conduit, and other pathways.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, security drawings, cable schedules, and installation plans.
  • Perform cable labeling and identification according to project standards.
  • Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of security cabling and devices.
  • Coordinate with foremen, project managers, electricians, and other trades to complete installations efficiently.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment while following all data center and job-site safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Security Technician, Access Control Technician, Low-Voltage Technician, or Structured Cabling Technician.
  • Hands-on experience with access control and/or security camera systems.
  • Experience pulling and installing low-voltage structured cabling.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints, drawings, and cable schedules.
  • Familiarity with cable tray, ladder rack, J-hooks, and conduit.
  • Ability to properly terminate, label, organize, and test cabling.
  • Data center construction experience is strongly preferred.
  • OSHA 10 certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a larger construction team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry tools, cable, and equipment.
  • Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work overhead for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in an active construction and data center environment.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE and comply with all site-specific safety requirements.
