Data Center Fiber Splicing Foreman- Bilingual English/Spanish

About the Role

Archetype Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) is seeking an experienced Data Center Fiber Splicing Foreman to lead fiber optic installation and ribbon splicing operations on hyperscale data center construction projects throughout the United States.

This position is ideal for a highly skilled fiber professional with extensive experience in mass fusion ribbon splicing, fiber testing, and managing field crews in mission-critical environments. The Foreman will oversee daily field operations, maintain production schedules, ensure quality workmanship, and work closely with project management and customers to deliver high-quality fiber infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead fiber optic crews on large-scale data center construction projects.
• Perform and supervise mass fusion ribbon splicing and single fiber splicing.
• Install, route, and terminate high-count fiber optic backbone cables.
• Read and interpret fiber splice matrices, rack elevations, blueprints, and construction drawings.
• Build and organize fiber distribution systems including:
  • ODFs (Optical Distribution Frames)
  • Fiber enclosures
  • Fiber cassettes
  • Patch panels
• Conduct OTDR testing, insertion loss testing, and power meter testing.
• Review test results and ensure all fibers meet customer specifications.
• Maintain detailed splice documentation and testing records.
• Coordinate daily production with project managers, general contractors, and customer representatives.
• Assign work, monitor productivity, and mentor fiber technicians.
• Troubleshoot damaged fiber, continuity issues, and network connectivity problems.
• Enforce OSHA safety standards and company safety policies.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to customer quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of fiber optic experience in data centers or mission-critical environments.
• 2+ years leading fiber crews as a Foreman or Lead Technician.
• Extensive experience with:
  • Ribbon Splicing
  • Mass Fusion Splicing
  • High-count backbone fiber
  • Single Fiber Splicing
  • Fiber Termination
  • Fiber Troubleshooting
• Experience operating fusion splicers such as:
  • Fujikura
  • Sumitomo
  • INNO
• Experience using:
  • OTDR
  • Power Meter
  • Light Source
  • VFL
• Ability to interpret splice diagrams and construction drawings.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to travel 100% nationwide.
