Job Title: Janitor / Custodian 

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Janitor/Custodian to maintain cleanliness, safety, and order within a large facility. The ideal candidate will ensure that production areas, restrooms, break rooms, offices, and common spaces are properly cleaned and maintained to meet health, safety, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in both production and non-production areas.

• Collect, transport, and dispose of trash, recycling, and other waste materials according to safety and environmental guidelines.

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and break areas, ensuring supplies are stocked.

• Maintain cleanliness in high-traffic and safety-sensitive areas such as entrances, loading docks, stairways, and hallways.

• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and industrial vacuums.

• Perform periodic deep-cleaning of machinery areas, windows, and facility surfaces as assigned.

• Restock cleaning and maintenance supplies as needed.

• Respond promptly to spills, leaks, and other immediate safety hazards to maintain a safe work environment.

• Follow company safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

• Report maintenance or repair needs to supervisors.

Qualifications:

• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.

• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and handling procedures.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines.

• Physically able to perform tasks that require standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working in a facility environment.

• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Work Environment:

• Large facility with production areas, offices, and employee common spaces.

• Exposure to loud noises, machinery, and varying temperatures.

• May require working evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed to support facility operations.
