Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Telecom Splicer to join our team in delivering high-quality telecommunication services. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in splicing, testing, and maintaining fiber optic and copper cable systems. This position requires excellent technical skills, a strong understanding of industry standards, and the ability to work in various field environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Cable Splicing: Splice and terminate fiber optic and copper cables using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Installation & Maintenance: Perform installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of telecom networks, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Testing: Conduct OTDR, power meter, and other testing procedures to verify network functionality and identify faults.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of splicing, testing, and maintenance activities for project tracking and reporting.
  • Compliance: Adhere to industry standards, safety guidelines, and company procedures to ensure high-quality work and workplace safety.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with team members, project managers, and clients to meet project deadlines and address technical challenges.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Telecom Splicer or similar role.
  • Proven experience with fiber optic and copper splicing techniques and tools.
  • Proficiency in using OTDR, fusion splicers, and other telecom testing equipment.
  • Strong understanding of fiber optic network designs, color codes, and splicing diagrams.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various work sites.

Preferred Skills

  • Certifications in fiber optic splicing or telecom systems (e.g., FOA, ETA).
  • Knowledge of construction and permitting processes for telecom infrastructure.
  • Experience in aerial and underground cable installation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Working Conditions

  • Field-based role with exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, nights, or weekends when needed.
