Lead Data Center Technician (Bilingual – Travel Required)
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Data Center Technician to oversee installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mission-critical data center infrastructure. This role is responsible for leading field technicians, coordinating project activities, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate is bilingual (English/Spanish), technically proficient, and willing to travel regularly to support project sites.
Travel is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise data center technicians on installation and service projects
Install, terminate, label, and test structured cabling (fiber and copper)
Oversee installation of racks, cabinets, containment systems, and network hardware
Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on data center infrastructure
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and scope of work documents
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets industry standards
Coordinate with Project Managers, Foremen, and client representatives
Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and test results
Train and mentor junior technicians
Required Qualifications
3–5+ years of experience in data center environments or structured cabling
Prior leadership or lead technician experience preferred
Strong knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling installation and testing
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
Willingness and ability to travel to various project sites (travel required)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
Fiber certifications (e.g., FOA, BICSI, or equivalent)
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Experience in mission-critical or hyperscale data center environments
Work Environment
Work performed in active construction sites and operational data centers
May require extended hours, overtime, or weekend work depending on project timelines
Travel required (regional and/or national depending on company needs)
